GRAND PRIX – Fairbairn Cup Confirmation

Good morning all,

What a glorious morning it is; I sincerely hope that it remains exactly as it is now for you all this evening.  

WE WILL BE USING EXACTLY THE SAME COURSE AS GP7, WHICH IS START FINISH IN USUAL PLACE (I.E. BIG CAR PARK ON SEAFRONT AT BRIERDENE), ALONG TO THE PROM, DOWN ONTO PROM AND BACK TO END, UP, ROUND WHOLE THING AGAIN, THEN RUN INTO THE FINISH (so essentially 2 full laps).

Having conducted a course check this morning and spoken to the workers on the cycle path, I can confirm that we ARE ON.  The only concern I have on the course is the temporary light area at the entrance to waves and past the zebra crossing.  We’ll place extra marshalls in this area but also request athletes to exercise some common sense and refrain from overtaking through the area where its narrow (I know, I know, but it is only a run).

Attached are the handicaps for this evening and I’m sure all will agree we are in for some tasty line ups throughout the field!
